Hello friends, and welcome!
My name is Sarah Barnes, and I am the owner and sole operator of Sarah Sawdust LLC. I’m a self-taught artist and woodworker whose creations blend my love for the outdoors with my journey of personal growth, and self-discovery. Born and raised in the beautiful state of Idaho, I formed a deep bond with the natural world from an early age, and to this day, I find endless inspiration in the rhythm and beauty of the landscapes around me.

My path into woodworking was driven by an innate need to create with my hands and a deep curiosity for the process. I have always been a very tactile person—learning through experimentation, intuition, and plenty of trial and error. Over time, this practice has evolved into a craft that challenges me, grounds me, and allows me to experiment and play within my own creativity, while transforming raw wood into intricate pieces that reflect my love for the natural world.
As a solo artist, every piece I make is deeply personal—crafted with intention, patience, and an obsession for the details. I pour my heart and soul into each creation, and it’s important to me that those that experience my art feel that sense of dedication and passion. My hope is that my art invites a moment of reflection, offering a sense of connection to something greater than just the materials themselves.
Sustainability has always been an important part of my work. I carefully source my materials, often working with reclaimed wood to give new life to forgotten timbers. This eco-conscious approach aligns with my belief in fostering a harmonious relationship between artistry and the environment.
More than anything, I see my art as an ongoing exploration—of self, of nature, and of what’s possible when creativity and craftsmanship come together. I hope my work inspires others to slow down, look within, and follow their curiosity—maybe even pick up a tool or two themselves. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about making things; it’s about forging a deeper bond with nature, with ourselves, and with the meaning that emerges in the process.
Whether you’ve been following my work for a while or are just now discovering it, I’m grateful for your presence and excited to share this creative path with you!!
